Episode 7: Lance Egan, US Fly Fishing Team Member talks to us about the competitions and more.

Listen Now
In this episode our guest is Lance Egan. He is a US Fly Fishing team member. He is also a 2 time champion of the ESPN Outdoor Games. Also a winner of the Teva Games, Lance has fished all over the world.

Lance gives us some insight into these competitions. He is also an avid carp Fly Fish Angler. He gives us some great information on his techniques on how to catch these forgotten fish.

The fly of the week this week is the Blood Midge.

Hook: Curved Caddis Hook (Mustad C49S)
Body: Guidebrod rod building nylon thread (red)

Simply tie in a piece of the rod thread. Wrap it up the shank of the hook then tie it off at the top.

I like to fish this with a little movement. I have the best luck by getting the fly to rise to the surface by slowly dragging it toward me. I like fishing it in a back eddie where I can see the fish stacked and feeding.
