Episode 11: Ian Colin James brings some humor to the show.

Listen Now
Im excited to bring todays show to you. I had a lot of fun talking to him and he brings a lot of humor to a traditionaly dry sport. Todays guest was referred to us by you, one of our listeners. We have Ian Colin James.

Ian caught his first fish on a fly when he was 6 years old on the River
Clyde in Scotland. In 1990 he was certified as an instructor by Peter
Anderson - former World Fly Casting Champion - on the River Spey in
Scotland. In 1995, Ian joined the Canadian Fly Fishing Team at the 15th
World Fly Fishing Championships in Galway, Ireland. That same year at
the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships on Loch Leven, Scotland, a
fly he created, called the Dunkeld Dabbler, took the largest fish of
the event for his team mate Tom Murray.

Across North America, he is also known as "The Carpfather" - the man
who made fly fishing for carp popular on this side of the Atlantic. He
has written about his piscatorial pursuits in the best-selling book
Fumbling with a Flyrod (Harpercollins, 2000).

Visit Ian at: www.ianjames.info and make sure you read the "Ask Ian"
pages and the "Conservation Corner."
