Episode 17: Dave Whitlock and the 2nd half of Fly Fishing

Listen Now
Fly Fisher, Fly Tier, Artist, Author, Teacher, Dave Whitlock takes a moment to visit with us about his career in Fly Fishing. His recent move back to Oklahoma is what he calls the 2nd half of his career. He is managing some of the waters in the area and working on a new book. He is no longer doing his fly fishing school, Dave is still taking on a few private lessons for select clients.
Dave talks about the second half of fly fishing and relates a great story of one of his students who reluctantly tied a couple flies. Only after loosing all of them in the lips of some large trout was he totally hooked on the other half of fly fishing.
Most people know Dave for his fly patterns but, fewer people know about his conservation efforts in further developing a in-stream incubation box for trout eggs.
Truly an inspiring individual, its an honor to have him on our show.
